Sock Monsters and Sock Monkeys
Designing, stitching, creating characters and play acting with these characters is the focus of this offering in art therapy. Students will use creative processes to explore their emotions and perceptions through making and "playing" with sock monkeys and sock monsters as they further develop their own identities and learn to sew. They will learn ways to address their challenges and express their feelings by sharing their process and creating dialogues with their characters in a safe and secure group setting. This class will support each student's sense of self-efficacy and provide habits for a healthy, emotionally balanced approach to life.
